Wayne Rooney has paid tribute to Juan Mata and Shinji Kagawa's influence in Saturday's 2-0 win at West Ham.Rooney was the matchwinner for United at Upton Park as David Moyes' side followed up their important Champions League win over Olympiakos last week with another impressive display.
The England striker's first effort is a contender for goal of the season as he stunned the Hammers with a shot from just inside the home side's half, but Rooney was quick to say Kagawa and Mata's performances were also vital in the victory. "Obviously Juan is a very talented footballer, got a good footballing brain and when he gets in positions you know as a forward you can make runs and he can see you," he said of Mata, before talking up Kagawa's display too. "'I think Shinji Kagawa played excellently as well. The two of them were causing West Ham problems," he added.
