Italians check on Chelsea striker

Inter are thought to be keen to take the Spanish striker on a season-long loan deal and travelled to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night in the hope of watching him in action. However Torres had to settle for a place on the bench as Samuel Eto'o lead the attack and opened the scoring in the 2-0 win over their Turkish opponents.

Torres came on for the last five minutes when replacing Eto'o, so if Inter were watching Torres then they had a wasted journey. The 29-year-old has also been linked with a return to Spain with his former club Atletico Madrid said to be keen on re-signing him when the transfer window opens. There will be no shortage of interest and there is a very good possibility Torres will be leaving in the summer.
