Liverpool, who are currently top of the Premier League, have not participated in the Champions League since the 2009/10 season and look set to push Manchester City for the title. The FA has used state-of-the-art computer technology to calculate the 12-point deduction for Liverpool’s non-Champions League season.
According to reports, Brendan Rodgers is said to be furious at the prospect of the 12-point deduction while a FA source revealed that Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal are delighted at the prospect.
April 1, 2014 may go down as the day that Liverpool had the Premier League title stolen from them. Or then again, maybe not.
