Hull have breathing space between themselves and the relegation zone but they are by no means safe, and Bruce realises the next four games against sides in and around them, are crucial. First up it is struggling West Brom at the KC Stadium, followed by trips to West Ham and Stoke, and then a home clash with Swansea, all teams who are not mathematically safe. Bruce insists Hull are still in a relegation scrap but the next four games could see them safe.
"The next four games are huge, they're the real crux of the season, it's all come to this," said Bruce. "That's the enormity of it. We've had a really decent first season in the Premier League but it's important now to see it through. This was always going to be the hard part. "There was always going to come a time when we were all pulling in the right direction. We've got to make sure we get over the line now. "We've always been in a pretty comfortable position and now we've got to maintain it, starting with West Brom on Saturday. "We'll always be defined against the teams in and around us and we've got to make sure we pick something up from these games coming up."
