Around 4,50,000 fans decided to unlike the Manchester United page, after The Red Devils suffered a 3-0 home defeat against rivals Liverpool on Sunday. This was possibly the most humiliating defeat in the David Moyes-era.The reigning Premier League champions had over 44 million ‘likes’ on their Facebook page, but as of the time of writing, only 43,786,989 users had ‘liked’ the page, which means around 4.5 lac United fans decided to withdraw their support.
A brace from captain Steven Gerrard and a Luis Suarez goal helped Liverpool record a magnificent victory over their arch-rivals at their own den. This victory helped Liverpool strengthen their position in the title race.
A lot of United fans have welcomed this move by the other fans, saying that this just separates true fans from the ones pretending.
